There will be two teams of six players, these will be split dependent on the players residency at the time of the preceding AGSC Open Championship; South West of England vs Rest of the World. A line has been drawn on the map below to show AGSC's definition of the South West. Those lucky enough to live in Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Hampshire, Isle of Wight and The Channel Islands will represent the South West. All others will represent the Rest of the World.

Qualification for each team will be as follows:
1 Captain selected by AGSC Committee
3 Qualifiers from the AGSC Open
2 Wildcard selections by the Captain (wildcard selections must be AGSC members and reside in the appropriate team area)
If a qualifier is unwilling or unable to play then the captain can replace him with a further wildcard selection.
The innaugural event in 2009 will be hosted by the South West. Thereafter the tournament will be held alternately between the two sides. The 2 Captains will be responsible for the choosing the venue and organising the event.
The competiton will be played over 2 days. Day 1 will be one round of fourball match play and one round of foursomes match play. Day 2 will be individual match play. Best of 12 matches. In the event of a draw the previous winners will retain the trophy. In the event of a draw in the inaugural event in 2009 winners of the singles matches will win, if still tied, the foursomes matches, if still tied then indiviual matches from the last singles match to the first match fourball match will decide the winner.
